Lembaga Bahasa Internasional FIB UI is an academic venture unit within the Faculty of Humanities, University of Indonesia. Its establishment is mainly intended for providing integrated language services to you, our prominent clients. The language services you can get are Bahasa Indonesia untuk Penutur Asing (BIPA/Indonesian Language Program), Program Pelayanan Bahasa (PPB/Foreign Language Program), and Program Pengembangan Penerjemahan (PPP/Translation and Interpretation Program).

BIPA Regular Program

Held in Depok campus, the program can be taken in 16 weeks long, from January to April, May to August, and from September to December. Classes are 20 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 08:30 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. During the course, BIPA organizes a one-day field trip, in which you can have the exciting opportunity of visiting “off-the-beaten paths” such as schools, TV stations, factories, jails, or governmental offices. If you are a beginner student, you will have the opportunity to practice using Bahasa Indonesia in a market setting. This is a very rewarding cultural exchange since you as a participant will be selling food, drinks, and traditional souvenirs from your native countries to Indonesian buyers and interact with them using Bahasa Indonesia.

BIPA Special Program

In addition to Regular Program, BIPA also offers special programs that are tailor-made to meet your specific needs and goals, as follow:

1.       Intensive Short Course for Groups

The program, which lasts for two to four weeks, is offered by request.  You will find it a very exciting program as it includes language instruction in Bahasa Indonesia, tours, and extracurricular activities such as batik painting or traditional music. We also provide pick-up service at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport and living arrangements upon your arrival in Jakarta.

2.       Tutorial Program

This is a tailor-made program to meet your specific needs and is open to a minimum of three people per group.

3.       In-house Training Program

This program is arranged on request and is held on your own premises to ensure your utmost convenience.
